Local farmers bring such wonderful, fruits, vegetables, flowers on a weekly basis. It is convenient and the produce is always fresh. I believe everyone in this community should support our local farmes.

Hastings, even though a small city, has a very active Farmer's Market, with dedicated growers who without fail provide fresh fruits, vegetables, and flowers throughout the growing season. To help those less fortunate financially, the have joined with WIC to provide fresh food to adults and children alike who would be unable to affort it otherwise. This speaks so well of them! I have been attending the Hastings Farmer's Market for years and find the people wonderful. The participants have a wide variety of produce, plants, and farm-related products. Although my yearly garden is large and diverse, I always find something different and delicious. As a community, it is our duty to support the local family farm, and the Hastings Farmer's Market is just one option. I encourage all Barry County residents, or visitors, to attend this weekly event on the courthouse lawn, Saturdays from 9 am to 1 pm.
