Memphis Farmers Market is my favorite place to spend Saturday morning. They have a place to park my bicycle, my friends can leave their dog with the pet sitter and then we are free to browse the fantastic produce. The fruit and vegetables are excellent but I also like to pick up fresh-baked bread and homemade jam.
The musicians that play at the market make it a very pleasant environment so it's a really great place to spend time socializing as you buy great food. I love it!

All the farmers are local growers - within 100 miles. It is a great neighborhood gathering spot and has really helped with the revitalization of the downtown area as it draws lots of people from all over town to downtown. They also do a great job of educating consumers about eating seasonally and how to prepare the seasonal produce, meat, etc. they are buying.

It's a fantastically diverse community event every Saturday that our family always looks forward to. The MFM allows us to teach our 5-year-old valuable lessons about where food comes from, what kinds of food are healthy and safe, and that fruits and vegetables grow in SEASONS. Our son was quite disappointed to find that swiss chard wasn't available during a portion of the summer, but he's excited to have it back for the fall. If one only buys from the grocery store, the idea that certain things only grow well at certain times is lost, and people don't see the pride that local growers take in their efforts.

I work at 4th and St. Paul in the South Main area but live in Cooper Young so I want to support "my neighborhoods" and the produce is much better trhan the other markets I have been to this summer. To tell the truth I have only been to one, I keep coming back to the Downtown Farmers Market.

I am a grower and I feel it is the best market around. The Market management always have interesting programs to educate the public on how to use produce from the market. They provide music and a pleasant atmosphere for the customers to enjoy their shopping experience. The market management is always ready and willing to help the vendors and the customers in any way possible. It is great to have access to locally grown produce. The Memphis Farmers Market has also livened up the old downtown train station with wonderful new ideas for family fun. Their family bike tour of the downtown area has really been a standout. Also, there have been many fun games for family and children. Central Staion has become a nostalgic gathering place on Saturdays for anyone interested in doing something a little different.

Great place to go!!! Wish we had one like this in Mississippi. My husband, grandson, great grandchild and I went this past weekend. Where else can you go to have fun, be entertained, get fresh vegetables, plants, honey and much, much more!!! We love it, just wish it was a little closer but it's still fun to go.

The Memphis Farmers Market has an amazing selection of food items as well as other items. You can buy fresh vegetables, beautiful flower arrangements, deserts, t-shirts, etc. I have been to various different farmers markets in different cities and this one is buy far my favorite. I love how there is a "pet area" and an area for children to play as well. The downtown location is perfect and there is plenty of room!

Our Farmers Market brings an amazing sense of community to our city. I drove up last Saturday at 7am when the farmers market opened, and by 7:10 the parking lot was full and the bike parking was full of bicycles. The organic meats are incredible...with an army of volunteers. It's such a fantastic group of people surrounding the best thing our city has accomplished in a long time!

The sellers are always local to the Memphis area, most farm within 100 miles of the city. There is always a festive atmosphere, music, and it brings together a diverse group of people - buyers and sellers. Memphis can be racially divided, but under the MFM pavillion, there is unity.

The MFM is the jumpstart to my weekend! I'm not a morning person, but I'm there every Saturday at 8 a.m. as it's such an energizing experience. My husband and I shop, sit with our coffee and pastry to listen to the music and people watch, and we always run into so many folks we know and new friends we've made at the market. It's the best social gathering in Downtown Memphis!

My 11-year old son and I visit the Memphis Farmers Market in downtown Memphis many times in the summer and fall months. Located in the "South End" of downtown Memphis, the Farmers Market attracts a variety of people. It is set on the grounds of the recently renovated Central Train Station -- underneath the awning. It's so nice even in the heat of the summer! People especially love the beautiful, inexpensive flowers that are available. One can create a professional-looking bouquet for just a few dollars.

Our Farmer's Market is located in a very historic part of town, close to the train station and a local trolly line. This part of Memphis has been recalimed- residential housing, loft office spaces, artist studios, wonderful restaurants- and yes, a great farmer's amrket. Great for the whole family!!!!!

Memphis, surrounded by rich farmland of the Mississippi, home to strife and poverty as well as wonderful people - finally we have a farmers market that brings together people from all parts of the city to celebrate what is GOOD about Memphis. People are eating healthier, getting to know their farmers, and families have a ball with all of the kid-related activities. We love going with our kids! We even do a CSA box there each week.

The people who've organized it are fabulous and have done some wonderfully creative things to promote it. It's not only a good outing to get good produce, it's a great time out! It has excellent produce, friendly people, great social atmosphere, a nice neighborhood vibe, plenty of activities for kids, and delicious baked goods. They also take care of your dog while you peruse if you need a sitter:)

Memphis Farmers Market definitely reflects Memphis. There's always live music by local musicians, and there's local produce as well as produce from surrounding states. I can get locally made hummus to spread on delicious local bread and top it with crisp locally grown cucumbers. I can get everything to make a Cobb Salad! I can get side meat to cook with fresh greens and have fresh lady peas or limas along with them. And I always see people I know and like.
