Memphis Farmers Market is by far the best farmers market in the Memphis area. Fresh, LOCAL produce and artisan work, free live music, demos, kids activities, and health education. It's one of the best in the nation, I think.
This market has local only vendors, musicians, nutrition programs, and children's programs every Saturday. It's a great experience.
The MFM provides an exceptional venue for regional farmers and artisans to sell their goods. They help promote the farmers through multiple advertising efforts, and also help connect local farmers with area chefs. Their volunteer support system is incredible and with the market only being 4 years old you'd never know it to visit.
My family loves this Farmer's Market. It is our favorite thing to do on a Saturday morning- wake up, throw the baby in the car, and head downtown to buy fresh fruit and veggies, visit with the farmers, hear live music, watch demonstrations, run into friends, and then stroll downtown and visit shops. We are sad when the market season ends and we have to for it to come around again!

The staff of the non-profit, the vendors, the accomodations, and the quality of the products are all so fine. I have been to so many markets and this is one of the best I have ever attended. I go almost every week no matter what. Worth the trip down to the river.
