What doesn't is have? Vendors outside under tents, as well as inside a historic freight house, view of the Miss River, fruits, veggies, exotic meats, potted plants, soaps, candles, coffee, wine, home-made food, honey, and more! If you haven't seen it, you haven't seen the best in the Midwest!

I've been to several farmers markets in other states & as far as I am concerned the one at Davenport Freight House is the best, by far. I look forward to going there, every chance I get. Keep up the good work. I think having the playground & music is the best. Way to go Davenport, let's get more things going downtown again. Davenport is the greatest. Everyone is so friendly & helpful. Having part of it in a historic building' year round, is a big plus.

I think it is awesome that the Davenport Frieght house has the farmers market! Theres no better feeling than knowing that the food you buy from the market was grown locally! It has the perfect location down by the river front and is a fun enjoyable family experience!

There are so many vendors and they stay rain or shine. There's enough room to walk around in the outdoor area. The vendors inside are good, too, and I like it that they will be "year round". For instance, I'll like having the smoked fish year round. That area is a bit more crowded, though.

The Quad Cities is truly lucky to have the" Best Farmers Market". Where can you go every Saturday (year round) and get a pork chop sandwich, Fresh Squeezed Lemonade(I get the sugar free) bring your dog, kids, maybe even Granny in a wheel chair. Buy your meats, veggies, eggs, fresh cheese curds, and baked goods(banana bread for $1.00 omg ) In a setting that is very clean, safe, easy parking, kid friendly. On the Mississippi River. They have Bands, demo's (how to cook), fund raisers for food shelters. It just keeps getting bigger and better every weekend. It is a must see for yourself, but be careful you will get hooked fast. The Vendors are very friendly, and know what they talking about! If you like samples?Yes, they got them! (YUMMY)

The Davenport Freight House Farmers Market has grown into a very valuable asset for the Quad Cities bringing our local growers together to help promote a healthy lifestyle by selling their fresh fruits and vegetables. The location is perfect and everyone is very friendly and knowledgeable. I think I learn something new every time I go. If you have never been you must try it, you will not be sorry. Thanks to all for the hard work that goes in to making this happen. This truly is the best Farmers Market.

Set along the beautiful Mississippi River, the Freight House Farmers Market has helped re-vitalize an abandon historic building in Davenpot's downtown. The only year-round farmers market in Iowa, the vendors with the support of the Davenport Levee Commission have created a lively, exciting place to shop, relax and to learn.

as a producer and consumer i am always happy to see venues that support local production and reduces the distance between consumer and producer. it;s safer and more satisfying to know where your food comes form and as a producer, to know where it's going and what's happening to what you grew with your labor. freight House Markets adds layers to that connection by sponsoring activities and forums that add value and meaning to what we produce and consume and transact in an otherwise impersonal and meaningless marketplace.

Top 10 reasons I support the Davenport Freight House Farmers Market because: 1. locally grown meat (grass fed & free of antibiotics and hormones!) and fresh produce (not shipped a week ago from who knows where!) 2. locally made soaps and shampoos free of toxic chemicals 3. location by a beautiful park and bike trail next to the Mississippi 4. fun special events 5. delicious coffee 6. interesting and smiling people selling and shopping 7. open two days year round 8. GREAT use of indoor space in the old Freighthouse 9. Kids have fun with dogs, playground and food samples 10. It feels like I'm back in the big city where the farmer's market was THE place to go on Saturday morning.

Where to start. Located on the Mississippi River our market is a social event for us, catching up with friends which includes the vendors. During the season we can find most eveything we need here for fun and delicious meals. One thing we are most pleased about is the increasing selection of organic produce being offered and options for healthy & respectfully raised meat. Now open on tuesdays, we can have market goods nearly all week and a midweek dinner out (hot dogs) from one of the friendly vendors. Our market is also open during the winter inside the Freight House for which it's named. Amazing baked goods, cheese, meat, fresh eggs, hand made soap, delicious locally roasted coffee make holiday shopping a breeze.

The Freight House Farmer's Market has a variety of fresh produce from (A)rgula to (Z)ucchini, and if you can't find it at this market...it doesn't grow in our region. The fresh baked goods offered makes ones mouth water, and vendors with meat products are top quality. Not only can you buy things to eat, but you can browse a variety of fine arts and craft products. There always new vendors and new products. If you are philathropic minded, the Freight House Farmer's Market gives back to the community by providing free booths for non-profit organizations to raise funds for their programs. They also offer a wide variety of educaitonal programs, special events, entertainment, and support healthy living. The picutesque backround setting of the market is the Mississippi River waterfront, a park with shade trees, and a baseball park. The FHFM operation hours are very convenient, especially for those of us who work...Saturday 8:00-1:00 and Tuesday 3:00-6:00. They have a winter indoor market from November to April, and the outdoor/indoor market is from May to October. Its a great place to browse the booths and meet friends!

At the Davenport Freight House Farmer's if one takes the chance to get to know the vendors the vendors welcome their customers into their "market family" to help everyone to have a better experience, because their are more points of view being shared.

The Freight House Farmers Market has become a Saturday morning ritual for many of us. We LOVE the sights , smells and the truly earthy feeling that you get from supporting our local growers. The passion that these growers share has inspired many of us to put more into our own gardens.

Ive been shopping at the market every since its been here,In the winter time when I have to buy my veggies at the store, I always say where is the market when you need them. I just hate store tomatoes, I call them winter hard, tasteless tomatoes, I have also learned alot about canning. Thank you Farmers Market' Keep on growing American.

My daughter is a vendor at the Freight House Farmers Market and I have known many of the vendors there for 8+ years and are very familiar with their efforts. They are the hardest working, friendliest people I know and all sell quality products. They work hard to make this the best market with special events and children's projects. We have "Friends of the Market" who help out with events. It is the best!

It feels like a festival. There is lots of things to choose from. The people have so many good ideas to share and are willing to go out of their way to help. It has a good location for parking and is close for Illinois shoppers like myself. The Freight House is in doors so they are open year round. Yeah!

I have supported the Davenport Freight House Farmers Market for over 11 years. The vendors truly care about their products they deliver and the customers they deliver too as well. There are many activities planned for families which makes the market a "social and educational event" for all. With the backdrop of the Mississippi River, the Freight House Farmers Market is truly a destination place.

What a wonderful place to spend a Saturday morning.I have been going down for years. I love the atmostphere, Darcy and her soaps, Nostalgia Farm, the curds from Milton Creamery, the Geest Farms meat, Allens Grove, the guy with the great prennials. It is like being at a county fair. Now you have the lemonade and rib eye sandwiches. All the fresh food and flowers. Davenport can be so very proud of this market. Everyone in the area should check it out.
