Buying local is a very important factor in living on Martha's Vineyard. By the time fresh vegetable arrive on the Island they are already old. Think fresh, Think supporting local farmers if they don't sell their produce, they can't farm, earn a living and will be forced to sell their land which will be converted into McMansions.

Every year, my boyfriend does a bicycle/camp trip to the Vineyard. While there, he always attends the West Tisbury market on Sat mornings and brings me back a wonderful treat. We love New Lane Sundries-he stocks up on the Zin jelly and Champagne mustard.

I live on Martha's Vineyard (year-'round) and am well-aware of how hard our local people work to maintain the quality of life that the Vineyard has to offer.

an incredible variety of fresh foods - a congenial atmosphere (water for your dog) - and farmers who work very hard to provide the ingredients you'll be proud to serve your house guests!
