It's great to shop local while on vacation, we love to support MV initiatives, and most importantly, the products available are all delicious!

Buying local is a very important factor in living on Martha's Vineyard. By the time fresh vegetable arrive on the Island they are already old. Think fresh, Think supporting local farmers if they don't sell their produce, they can't farm, earn a living and will be forced to sell their land which will be converted into McMansions.

Every year, my boyfriend does a bicycle/camp trip to the Vineyard. While there, he always attends the West Tisbury market on Sat mornings and brings me back a wonderful treat. We love New Lane Sundries-he stocks up on the Zin jelly and Champagne mustard.

I live on Martha's Vineyard (year-'round) and am well-aware of how hard our local people work to maintain the quality of life that the Vineyard has to offer.

It is a fabulous country market with island grown produce, wonderful homemade jams and jellies, egg rolls and other foods, island made cosmetic products and beautiful cut flowers!

We have a wonderfully strong community of local growers and farmers -- many of them using organic, sustainable or creative methods to keep our environment and population healthy

Because local food is fresher, cuts down on emissions from corporate trucking and is good business run by individuals and not corporations. I want to see the faces that grow my food!

Because it supports our hard working neighbors and the Island, the produce and baked goods are always super fresh, usually organic,and it is just a wonderful place to be.
