Love Your Farmer's Market Contest

I have lived in South Orange for 20 years, and been shopping for JERSEY FRESH fruits and veggies at the Main Street South Orange Farmers Market for the 16 years it's been there. Then I managed the market, and now I run the organization that runs the market. I believe in shopping and eating locally, and supporting our NJ farmers. Not only is it convenient and delicious, but sustainable.

The vendors are friendly and there's a nice variety of produce, baked goods, , prepared foods, pickles and cheeses. South Orange Main Street provides entertainment and information on local issues and events, so it's more than just a shopping experience.

Loved it when I lived there and STILL love it after moving to West Orange. The W.Orange market is impossible to park near and isn't worth the trouble after parking! The quality of the people at the S.Orange market is MUCH nicer!

Great fruit, veggies, sunflowers, pickels, corn, etc. And, they tent so I dont get wet buying and standing talking to neighbors!!!

Fresh and easy fun way to buy

It is great to be able to buy produce straight from the farm. The vendors are all very friendly and the selection is great.

1. Supporting local farmers rather than agribusiness. 2. Reducing the carbon footprint (e.g., not buying produce that's been packed in a truck shipped cross-country). 3. Enjoying sharing the market experience with my neighbors. 4. Buying & eating the freshest available fruit and vegetables!
