I have personally been to the farms and know the farms. Having that connection is the reason I support them.

It's a wonderful collective of local, sustainable, independent farms from the Capay Valley. It's also a unique set-up where the market is there on Wednesdays from 4-7pm for the convenience of urban shoppers who can either shop on the fly and/or pick up their CSA boxes. FarmShop is a model that should be scaled to make healthy food truly accessible on a regular basis.

This particular Farmshop is a fabulous example of a local community supporting a group of family farms. The farms consistently provide an array of fresh, organic produce. The CSA portion is a competitively priced and convenient source of providing a weekly supply of produce that is guaranteed fresh, organic, and healthy. This farmshop is small and has allowed me to get to know the participating farmers. Another unique plus to this market are the regularly scheduled cooking and food demonstrations by local chefs from downtown Palo Alto restaurants, that serve dishes made from the produce of this market. This has helped me learn to store and prepare new (to me) vegetables.

The Farmshop emphasizes the importance of our local food shed, I like that it represents a distinct farming area.

The best produce I've ever purchased. I also like running into friends and colleagues to socialize.

The CSA program is the easiest way to get more diversity in my fruits and vegetables every week.
