The Crossroads Auction Market in Gratz is a meeting place for the Lykens Valley and has been a major part of the community for many years. You can find anything at the market and if you can't, there is always someone that will help you find it, or will bring it for you the next week. I have not ever been there without seeing a friend. It is a wonderful mix of Amish and English and the vendors are extremely friendly.

It's a great environment to work in. I miss it every week that I have off. There is such a vast variety of things to buy and people to interact with. Pretty much everyone is friendly.

The setting in Lyken Valley is beautiful. It is a meeting and greeting place for all of our friends . The vegtables and fruits couldn't be fresher, some picked just that morning! Remember the taste of a garden fresh tomato and the juice running down your chin from that fresh peach just off the tree? That is the Gratz Crossroads market. We go every week, even when we don't need anything there is something to be had. Fresh strawberries, sweeter than any I have tasted, rasberries that aren't already moldy and blueberries till your hearts content , not to mention the health factors involved in FRESH fruit and vegetables. Potatos taste so different when they were in the dirt this morning, I don't think there is even a similarity to the ones in the store. Come and visit our market, it may be small, but it is friendly and clean and as the Cheers song goes, it is nice to go the a "place where everyone knows your name" and "you're always glad you came!" The Gratz Auction has been in existence for many years. I remember going there as a young child with my father to sell farm vegetable we grew on our family farm. I'm retired now and still go there every week to get fresh produce, meats, baked goods, etc, from local farmers and vendors. They have whatever you need. Plus, its a good place to meet friends and neighbors and catch up on the latest local news.
