It's a consistent source of wonderful tasting, fresh, locally grown produce, meat and dairy products, honey, handmade crafts, plants. For many of these the market is a one-and-only source, like varietal mushrooms, hard to find perennial plants, oriental greens, specialty hot peppers, herbs, artisan salsas, cheeses, and even cut flowers that are hard find (particularly through our long winter months in Iowa!)
The market is a Saturday morning Event from mid-May to mid-October. You not only get to know the vendors, you see many friends there. If you're hungry when you go, there is a huge selection of tasty, already prepared food at every turn: Indian, Latin American, French pastries, homemade breads, coffees.
The market is centrally located, handy to get to. Parking is relatively easy. --What's not to support!
