It's friendly, diverse, supports local CT farmers who present lovely and very fresh produce, offers outstanding baked goods (including a gluten-free baker!) and a good range of well-made crafts AND it is family and dog-friendly. It's the best of the local markets; it has a wide representation of items, and you often have more than one choice of vendors for the same item (giving options to the shoppers). They also have themes and entertainment, giving more than just a shopping experience.

I support the Coventry Regional Farmers' market because it has a wide range of vendors, giving support to local craft people as well as food producers. The "staff" is exceedingly friendly, and the customers are more supportive and friendly than any other market I have seen. The general atmosphere is warm and inviting.

The setting is picture perfect, the historic home of Nathan Hale. The selection is outstanding, a wide assortment of produce which looks more like art it's so picture perfect, wonderful baked goods, plants, dairy products produced no more than 12 miles away, great food vendors, live demonstrations, great music, farm animals. We love going to the market on Sundays. We get there, my husband grabs a coffee and we walk around tasting samples and planning what to buy for that night's dinner. The setting is wonderful, the artisans are original and the local produce can't be beat. Vendors are friendly and delightful to converse with. It is not only fun to shop and sample the many food offerings, but it is "feel good" way to spend a few hours amongst the children, dogs, and people of every age. Music and entertainment provide just the right atmosphere for an enjoyable experience every time.

The Coventry Regional Farmers' Market is by far the most spirited and diverse market I've ever attended, and I've visited markets from California, to Ohio, to Washington, DC., and throughout Connecticut. The variety of local products offered is wonderful, and the spirit and love that all the volunteers pour into this summer event makes it a must-do every Sunday!

My grandfather's cow bell rings to open and close the Farmers' Market. How proud he would be to see such beautiful fresh produce, meat from humanely raised animals, amazing artisan ware, plants, baked goods and so much more. The spirit of community is alive and well, as seen on the smiling faces of shoppers, vendors and guest speakers. Even the dogs are happy.

A fabulous community, always innovative, beautifully organized without losing any of its earthiness, and, without fail, a little something for everybody. Our farmers market has such a wide selection of vegetables and other farm products. Our farmers gives us top quality fruits and vegetables at very reasonable prices compared to some of the organic stores. These is also a lot of artisian vendors which makes the trip to the market a family affair. Each week there is a them and a demonstration to go with the them that involves the whole family including the children. It is alway a learning adventure when we go.

I love this market because of the farms that are there week after week with fresh produce - lettuce, spinach, strawberries, peas, beans, tomatoes - you name it, it will be there! Then there are the specialty vendors that rotate through, so there's always something new every week. I also love that they have themes and attract different groups. And, it's also dog friendly, so I can bring my one year old boxer to socialize with other dogs and people. It's really an experience and something I look forward to every week!

This is a weekly destination!! You always run into people you know, it brings back the small-town feel to a growing town. It's held at the Nathan Hale Homestead. The environment is lively and entertaining. There is music, brick oven pizza and loads of local vendors. The produce is varied and of good quality and it's a completely dog friendly event :) They feature a product weekly and have cooking demonstrations and other educational offerings. Honestly the best farmers market I've seen in the states. It remined me of the open markets in Paris. Famlies came together and shared the adventure of picking out their food, dairy and dog treats! Wonderful local/organic produce, baked goods, artistic handmade products, informational and interactive booths/demonstrations are presented in the historical setting of the Nathan Hale Homestead...a fabulous destination for the whole family. I look forward to the beautifully constructed newsletter that arrives weekly to my in-box. It previews the theme of the week, gives background information on vendors/entertainers, and provides recipes that guide my Sunday selections! Come early to browse and be ready to shop once the cow bell clangs!

The Coventry Regional Farmers' Market has grown each year with more and more creative and different vendors. It is always a joy to see each of their wares each week. Two Sundays ago I came home with a henna tattoo on my ankle. There is the usual vegetables, etc in season but also cheeses, yogurt, pesto, pastries, breads, hats, pocketbooks, baskets, etc. One of my daughters, who lives in Bethel, CT, drives the hour and a half almost every Sunday to experience the Coventry Regional Farmers' Market with her family. For a few years the Market was within easy walking distance from my house. I was upset , at first, when it moved across town to the Nathan Hale Homestead site. I know find it has benefited greatly by the move, and also, the Nathan Hale Homestead has benefited as well. I love strolling around and seeing the people with their assorted animals, dogs, rabbits, goats, etc. I love the idea of supporting OUR LOCAL Growers and People.

The market has so much to offer from wonderful vegetables, fruits, herb plants and growing information freely given, vendors with jams, wool clothing, jewelry, fresh flowers. The baked items are also wonderful and all vendors are friendly and it's a great place to see people enjoy themselves. The live music adds so much and the special lectures are varied and interesting for no charge.

This is the biggest AND best farmers' market I've seen in CT or VA! There are many wonderful local farmers, cheese makers, bakers, chefs, jewelers, and more. It's a great place to spend an entire day, with people serving freshly cooked lunches and a live band. Everything I've bought there is wonderful and they tend to have themes, like heirloom tomato week.

I am a vendor and just love selling there. It's the best market in the state. The people who run it are fantastic- we love all the vendors as well as the customers. People always seem so genuinely happy to be there, whether its selling or shopping for amazing local foods and crafts.

Why buy from a farmers market? We ALL should be eating more fruits and veggies. Fruits and veggies help prevent, heart disease.cancer, and other illnesses. At a farmers market one gets more choices. Not only more choices but FRESH choices grown nearby! Can't "beet" that. (smile) Buying from your local farmers market helps support local farmers. Also, produce sold at farmers markets is very fresh and grown nearby.

It's a great way to spend a few hours on Sunday. They have fresh fruit, veggies, etc., for purchase. They have entertainment and animals for the children to see and pet. Great location too!

Situated in a walled field at the historic Hale Homestead (birthplace of Connecticut's State Hero Nathan Hale), the Coventry Farmers Market includes music, educational presentations and events that are all theme-based and are different each week (wine-tastings, Blues & Brews, etc.). The Homestead itself offers special family activities, like wagon rides, that are tied into the market themes, in addition to conducting its regular tours of the site. Leashed dogs are welcome and come in all shapes and sizes. Young farm animals, from goats to llamas, are also there to be petted and have their care and importance explained. It's a great Sunday destination for history, food and fun!
