Whenever I visit Chapel Hill or Carrboro I stop by the Carrboro Farmers'Market. They have a good selection of items, prices are reasonable and the people are friendly. And, if I'm short on cash I can use a debit card.

Local fresh food directly from the growers is the way to go. I know some of the farmers personally, and appreciate the efforts they put in to provide healthy local food. Carrboro has been a leader in supporting the farmers market for many years.
They are so very nice and awesome ,informative and just a great place to be and visit!! I've lived in several states and am also ,myself, an organic gardener and trying to once again start my own small business. But with health issues, I'm having to buy organic foods that I am unforunately, unable to grow for myself at this time. Keep up the great work and I hope to join in with you all next year! I've been to many farmer's markets over the past 45 years, and Carrboro is my favorite. There is a wide diversity of local sustainable products available from fruits and vegetables to flowers, plants, pork, beef, eggs, etc. The famers and the shoppers know eachother and support and appreciate eachother. The market also organizes great events such as the mid-summer tomato tasting. I think there were 28 different varieties of tomato and you really discover the differences between their taste, texture, smell, etc. when you get to taste them side by side. It's a great market!!

I cook and eat almost exclusively from the CFM. After filling my bags every Saturday, I walk down to Johnny's and get a hot French crepe and plan how to cook from the broad selection of venturous veggies and meats that the farmers have brought in this week.

It's a great place to buy local fruit, veggies, meats, flowers, baked goods.... everything but the kitchen sink... and all LOCAL - none of this "trucked in from out of state but sold by a local person" stuff, these are all people who live, work, and play in my community so I feel proud to support them by purchasing the fruit of their labors. The Carrboro FM is also a great place to run into friends. I can't go there without running into someone I haven't seen in a while and having a little chat, not to mention the folks I see every week. I love going for the sense of community as much as for the diverse products!

The friendliest farmers and about as local as food can be. There is a mileage restriction on how far away the food can originate from.

I support Carrboro Farmers' Market because buying healthy, local food is a small, convenient, and yummy way to reduce my carbon footprint and help out other member's of my community, as well as a generally more pleasant experience than the harsh florescence and blaring commercialism of chain grocery stores.
Have you been there... It's the best variety and atmosphere that I (or anyone else whose has actually experienced it) have witnessed. Ask around.
i always kick myself because i don't know the names of the farms, but i know which tent to go to for the butternut squash, and this one has my favorite zuchinni and summer squash, etc. when i tell people about the carrboro farmer's market i draw them a map and star the farmers' location and what to buy.
I go every Saturday for fresh, fair, and organic foods. I can't afford health insurance, so the farmer's market is my pharmacy. You are what you eat!

I grew up in the area (Chapel Hill) and was just at the market during a trip home. It's magnificent! So many products and a diverse mixture of people and ages makes for a fantastic atmosphere.

Our family loves the food AND the farmers. We really appreciate being able to buy vegetable plants for our kids' garden and having them choose their own fresh, local food from the people who grew it. Now my seven year old son will ask, "How many hours ago was this growing in a field?" before he chooses his produce.

There is nothing that can compare to local, fresh grown produce. The flavors are so much better than produce in the grocery stores. You get to know the people that grow the products, swap a few recipes, make new friends, meet up with old ones. You get to support your local economy, which help everybody.

In addition to the amazing produce and other food items, the market reminds me that I live in a community. After the busy week of attending to work and family I look forward to strolling the market and seeing friends and familiar faces. I never fail to run into someone I know and stop to catch up.

I can go there every Saturday morning and find absolutely wonderful produce, flowers, meats, plants and plenty of friendly food. I know the food is healthy with no pesticides, etc. It is local so it helps our local economy and helps the environment also. I love it...we eat so well during the summer months. We are so lucky in this community to have this market available.
