The Eskimo-Kalaallit people have a prophecy that when the once rock-hard
glaciers become so soft that you could leave a handprint on them, this would be a sign that Mother Earth is in profound turmoil.
Sirmiq Aattuq means melting the ice in the heart of man. Angaangaq, keeper of the drum of the Eskimo-Kalaallit people, teaches us that unless we learn to grow up to our spiritual responsibility and become worthy of that, we cannot learn to melt the ice in our hearts and the hearts of those around us.
If we learn to make a difference in our world, we then make a difference in the world for times and times to come.
