The Single Most Important Thing to Recycle

Guess which electronic piece of equipment you can run for three hours
because of the energy savings of recycling just one aluminum can?
Answer: A computer or a television set!
Aluminum is the most abundant metal on Earth. It takes 95 percent less energy to make a new aluminum can from recycled aluminum cans.
The aluminum can you recycle today will be back as a new aluminum can in 60-90 days.

I agree that Aluminum is the single most important thing to recycle. Plastic can often cost more then it's worth - it's best to just avoid buying plastic in the first place.
I recently wrote an article about the 22 most interesting recycling facts I found across the internet. Check it out if you find them as interesting as I do :)

This is a good thing. I always drive down to the grocery store with a bag of all my cans. You know, you can even put them in a refund machine and you get a 5 cent refund. The can still gets recycled, but you make a little more money. And, if you say making money from recycling is a bad thing......... I won't even go into that. This post is really great. It will help Americans recycle and put more money in the economy. My question to you is, Why Not?

Hi Lisa: Well, I have used Shaklee for 26 years but just go here: GoShaklee.ca and use my password RE20020 and reply there! Window cleaning solution for 1 penny per gallon and only ONE empty bottle for 2 years of cleaning. Organic? Oh yes it is-the BAsic H is made from corn and coconuts. And yes we do have on line a chemical description of the ingredients. But ladies think about this: If you only need 1 pint size bottle of concentrate per thousands of gallons of window/mirror cleaning solution what a savings to the environment that would be?! Isn't that the true ecologist thinking? Avoid the need to recycle anything at ALL!

I have never heard of Shaklee. Is it better than Pur or Brita?

Why not purify your own water and stop unnecessary use and waste of your money?
Shaklee has a great water purfier.

It's interesting to read all these comments on plastic bags. We can't use the cloth bags. We don't go to the grocery store. Our groceries are delivered to our home every second week. We would not be able to get those cloth bags back to the store for refilling. What's more, the cardboard boxes are too heavy and awkward for arthritic seniors. It's a good thing that the plastic bags are recycled here.
