No Backroom Deals for Big Polluters

The big polluters reportedly spent $514 million over the last year and a half lobbying against climate legislation.

Now, Politico reports that Congressional climate action opponents are promising to continue to block climate action in exchange for campaign cash.

And, they are trying to block EPA's ability to take action under the Clean Air Act to cut America's climate pollution.

This is a frontal assault on America's clean air laws and our environmental and public health. We need your help to fight back.

Tell your Senators: "No Back Room Deals for Big Polluters."
Dear Senator,

I am writing to urge you to oppose any and all legislative efforts to eliminate, delay, or constrain the Environmental Protection Agency's efforts to protect Americans from climate pollution as authorized under the Clean Air Act.

America's clean air laws have worked for 40 years to protect millions of Americans from exposure to dangerous air pollution. And they have saved lives.

A new study finds that premature deaths linked to pollution from coal-fired power plants have been reduced by more than 56% over the last decade, from more than 30,000 deaths every year in 2000 to about 13,200 today. That's still too many, and tougher pollution limits will help protect more American lives.

Please stand up to the big polluters and oppose efforts to delay or constrain the EPA's climate work.
