Stand Against Sexism in Royal Canadian Mounted Police

Reports of sexual harassment and gender-based discrimination in the Royal Canadian Mounted Police keep filing in. So why is the RCMP denying wrong doing instead of taking immediate and aggressive action to protect ALL its mounties?

After twenty years of mistreatment, former mountie Janet Merlo says it is too late for her. But she hopes her story and lawsuit will motivate the RCMP to clean up its act and provide women a work place that is free of obscene jokes, pranks, and discrimination. According to CBC News, 150 women stand ready to back Merlo's story -- with harassment testimonies of their own.

Tell the RCMP to crack down on sexual harassment and discrimination and make sure everyone in the police force is treated fairly!

We the undersigned are outraged that women like Janet Merlo have been so ill treated in the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

Clearly women who join the mounties want to protect and serve their communities and their nation. Instead of being honored for their commitment, they are subjected to lewd jokes, pranks, discrimination, and harassment. This needs to stop.

Please take aggressive action to stop harassment and discrimination and provide a safe, fair work environment for ALL mounties!
