Tell Stephen Harper to Stop Ignoring People With Disabilities

After two years of putting it off, Stephen Harper's Conservatives finally tabled their follow-up report on Canada's adherence to the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

The report confirms that the government is not doing enough to improve the quality of life of Canadians with disabilities.

It's clear: Stephen Harper's Conservatives are not taking their obligations seriously.

In Canada, over 600,000 persons with disabilities are living in poverty. The situation is particularly bad in Aboriginal communities where the Conservatives have ignored Aboriginal Canadians with disabilities for far too long.

Worse still, despite numerous requests, Stephen Harper still has not appointed an independent review body to ensure proper application of the UN Convention.

Take action today. Call on the Conservatives to improve the quality of life of persons with disabilities, reduce the poverty they face and improve their job prospects.
