10 Animal Cheats

  • 2 of 10

When it comes to food and money, rats are truly dirty rotten scoundrels. In the United States alone, they wreak havoc to the tune of creating over $19 billion in damages per YEAR. It’s no wonder really, when you consider that there are an estimated 70 million rats just within New York City that’s of course not counting pickpockets, slight-of-hand street vendors or crooked politicians. To make matters worse, not only are rats some of the most expensive cheaters, they’re also surprisingly fast, with their top speed clocking in at around six miles per hour. Let’s just hope a New York City rat marathon never becomes a reality.

I do feel sorry for warblers. I think there was some evidence that if they reject the cuckoo bird, then the actual cuckoo mother tends to attack the nest and the non-cuckoo siblings. So, the warbler is kind of forced to accept the cuckoo chick.

They aren't cheats, they are just surviving to live. I love the strong message that the orangutans have for humans.

Animals are out there to survive. I think it hardly fair, therefore, to compare an animal with a human--or rather human calling animals "cheaters." When humans straighten out and fly right, then they can speak. Until then, they have no right to judge.any animal and should just shaddup.

Interesting but it is more accurate if one talks about adaptations for animal survival than cheating-the fox breaking open the egg is great, purrhaps I will ask him to crack a few open for me next time...Nature has a variety of methods for species to survive!

I have to watch my dogs at feeding time. They will steal the kitties food if I am not paying attention.
