10 Dogs Jealous of Your Love

National Dog Day was celebrated nationwide this past week. Dogs are man’s best friend … until that man gets a new girlfriend. If you’ve ever had a canine companion, you already know how seemingly nosy they can be of newborn babies, dates, family members, or really anyone who comes into intimate contact with you. They’re kind of attention hogs. Dare we say they even get … jealous? Well, new research from the University of California, San Diego, proved that, yes, even dogs can get a little green with envy. In an experiment to test this theory, psychologists videotaped how 36 dogs would react to their owners when they showed affection to animatronic stuffed dogs. The result? The REAL live dogs exhibited jealous behavior by whining, barking and even biting to try and get in on all that lovin’. So while psychologists have just proven what we’ve already suspected for years, the real evidence has been under our noses all along. Just take a look at these ten dogs were not shy about hiding their emotions in their masters’ love-dovey engagement photoshoot sessions, wedding days, and disastrous dates.

“Why do you act like this when SHE’S around? Not cool, bro.”

“I’m judging your artsy fartsy engagement shoot right now.”

“Ugh. Your love is making me nauseous.”

“Boyfriend begone.”

“You didn’t invite me to the wedding. Here’s your PRESENT.”

“A wedding photo with the perfect upshot? WE’LL SEE ABOUT THAT.”

Whenever my parents hugged each other our terrier would bark and squeeze in between them to be petted.

Please tell me they didn't spend any money on this research that supports what every dog owner has already observed.

I had a little poodle, Mollie and she used to show her teeth if anyone came near me! We'd say smile Mollie, smile and she'd bare her teeth and we'd laugh! She never, ever bit, it was just like a joke we played:)
