Root Growth Aid for Cuttings

I have a lot of relatives who visit for Thanksgiving, and they all love my houseplants and want cuttings. Do you have any suggestions for how to help nourish the cuttings for quick root growth?

Annie: Canadian research has demonstrated that honey is more effective for promoting root growth than the commonly used commercial chemical for this purpose. Try this recipe:

1/4 cup honey
3/4 cup boiling water

Combine boiling water and honey in a mason jar to blend the honey into the water. Cool. Place the cuttings in this solution for one to two days.

One other hint is to soak cuttings from a willow tree or bush for several days in water and then put the cuttings into the water- there is a chemical in the willow that helps your cuttings to root faster.. I quite believe this as I know how fast you can get a willow whip to grow just by digging it into the ground.
