Bubble Baths and Bath Fizzies

Bubble Baths and Bath Fizzies

Do you have a safe bubble bath formula? My kids love bubble baths but the smell of those perfumes really gets to me.

Your question brings back memories of when my daughter was little! She especially loved bath fizzies. Yes, I have safe formulas for both bubble baths and “sure fire” bath fizzies. The natural bubble baths are especially special as they are made with minerals and (optional) pure essential oils. The minerals cleanse the skin of odors and you can get a bit of aromatherapy by choosing just the right pure oils. The addition of cream of tartar, an alpha hydroxyl acid, softens the skin.

Basic Bubble Bath Formula:

  • 1 cup each baking soda and cream of tartar
  • ¼ cup cornstarch
  • Up to 5 drops essential oil per bath (optional)

Combine all the dry ingredients in a jar. Shake to blend. Use a few tablespoons in a bath. Add the essential oil to the bath itself, not to the jar.

Here is the formula for Sure-Fire Bath Fizzies.
