There are many actors who are vegetarian or vegan. The list below is just a portion of them. Some others are Carrie Ann Moss, Ashely Judd, Cameron Diaz, Eric Stoltz, Dustin Hoffman, and David Duchovny. My favorites are Dustin Hoffman and Natalie Portman. Which vegetarian actor is your favorite? Below are some videos, in which actors talk about being meat-free; additionally there is a movie scene with Elijah Wood.
Natalie Portman
Woody Harrelson
Ellen De Generes

+ add your ownIt's nice in my area that it's small and the farms are well kept. The cows are bred for either milk or meat, and in the mean time they are given plenty of room to roam. The big companies are the biggest culprits when it comes to animal cruelty. They house the animals in tight living quarters with poor ventilation and unnatural diets. Then, they break limbs just to get the animal moving. The slaughters are drawn out and very painful. Technically, this ruins the meat, but the big companies don't care.
I could never become a vegan, but I do try to only buy from the local farms that I know are as humane as possible. Kodos to those who have a healthy, balanced vegetarian diet without meat or any dietary suppliments.

but how many of them have the mind set of "all of you horrible bastards are going to hell for eating our animal friends, you savage monsters, It hurts me every day that I entertain you by being in film and TV, but if it changes your mind then kudos to you"
For people who read and post here because they actually have an interest in the topic, you may find this interesting:

*yawn* some (boring) things never change...
Marie, you've said that before...........what, about half a dozen times now? The only one "enraged" here seems to be you, or you wouldn't keep repeating that remark. Nobody else cares what these people eat or don't, and the entire discussion is just silly, which is what most of us who have any common sense are trying to point out. What some drug-addicted celeb does not eat, to most with any intelligence would surmise, is not as important as what he/she actually does with their life. I guess if you think it's important enough, you can pop back in here every couple weeks and repost that remark, since geez, guess what? There may be a new member that reads this and doesn't understand that what Natalie Portman DOESN'T eat has nothing to do with what she looks like, thanks to Hollywood make-up artists, or that David Duchovny may not eat meat, but he's been in and out of rehab a dozen times for various addictions. Yeah, I respect him..........NOT!
Wow, it's amazing how an article that is simply about 12 people who don't eat animals seems to enrage some people. The world is beginning to wake up and realize that omitting animals from their diet is the best thing they can do for their health, for the environment and for the animals. Pretty simple.
Thanks, just a sunset on Dec 6th as seen from my den deck.
Marilyn, I like your new "avatar". Very pretty photo!
Carol P, you're so right!
Look at how many people bought 'accessory' dogs to carry around in their purses just because Paris Hilton had one! Then the poor little dogs all ended up being dumped in shelters when the fad wore off.
As for celebrities....I worked in the business for over a decade and worked closely with many celebrities ....there are very few you would want to emulate in any way if you knew more about them.
Many of them aren't qualified to be hired to take out the garbage and they certainly didn't study nutrition!
That's not to say that there isn't a handful of intelligent ones who would do some research though and possibly TRY something out for awhile.
Personally, I never worked with a vegan actor/celebrity except for one who now says he is--but wasn't at the time-- and will remain nameless. He's a tiny grey-skinned man with an ego much too big for his accomplishments.
We supplied snacks at every session and they all dove in for the free food with total abandon and didn't seem to care what they were eating as long as it came from a famous deli.
