I wonder what the percentages are: ie of erstwhile "famous" Vegetarian/Vegans compared to the faceless others who follow these lifestyles? It's unfortunate that we still have to laud the high-profile people when it's probable they are really only the tip of the iceberg. Oh well, I suppose any 'publicity' is good publicity...

Wow, we're resurrecting yet another OLD Care.2 vegan discussion? Once again, folks, Bill Clinton is not vegan, never was....he eats FISH 2 - 3 times a week.

As for Larry Hagman, he's been "vegan" for a whole 7 months and he's a long time heavy drinker. He has cancer and is hardly he epitome of health. He claims he is feeling fine, but his diet sounds pretty bizarre to me.

Guess we're not alone! You left off Larry Hagman (of Dallas fame). He went vegan after open heart surgery--much the same as Bill Clinton. Guess he hasn't made a video about it.

It's nice in my area that it's small and the farms are well kept. The cows are bred for either milk or meat, and in the mean time they are given plenty of room to roam. The big companies are the biggest culprits when it comes to animal cruelty. They house the animals in tight living quarters with poor ventilation and unnatural diets. Then, they break limbs just to get the animal moving. The slaughters are drawn out and very painful. Technically, this ruins the meat, but the big companies don't care.
I could never become a vegan, but I do try to only buy from the local farms that I know are as humane as possible. Kodos to those who have a healthy, balanced vegetarian diet without meat or any dietary suppliments.

For people who read and post here because they actually have an interest in the topic, you may find this interesting:

Marie, you've said that before...........what, about half a dozen times now? The only one "enraged" here seems to be you, or you wouldn't keep repeating that remark. Nobody else cares what these people eat or don't, and the entire discussion is just silly, which is what most of us who have any common sense are trying to point out. What some drug-addicted celeb does not eat, to most with any intelligence would surmise, is not as important as what he/she actually does with their life. I guess if you think it's important enough, you can pop back in here every couple weeks and repost that remark, since geez, guess what? There may be a new member that reads this and doesn't understand that what Natalie Portman DOESN'T eat has nothing to do with what she looks like, thanks to Hollywood make-up artists, or that David Duchovny may not eat meat, but he's been in and out of rehab a dozen times for various addictions. Yeah, I respect him..........NOT!

Wow, it's amazing how an article that is simply about 12 people who don't eat animals seems to enrage some people. The world is beginning to wake up and realize that omitting animals from their diet is the best thing they can do for their health, for the environment and for the animals. Pretty simple.
