29 Ways to Show Your Presidential Support

As all of us know by now, November 6th is Election Day here in the United States. Political or not, you have to admit that this past year has been, if nothing else, enlightening and, at times, highly entertaining. After some intense campaigning, lively debates and seriously mud slinging by both the parties and the media, we’ll finally get our answer and settle on the next four years. But we’re not here to dissect the “important” issues – we’ll leave that to cable news and The New York Times. What we want to share with you is a roundup of some truly awesome handmade and vintage political gear. No matter which side you’re on, there is something for everyone. We hope you find something here that inspires you to create your own politically-themed craft, or support the artists who spent their time creating them.

If even your baby thinks it’s time for a change (haha, get it??), you’ll probably enjoy this onesie from Bully Design Co.

Show your love for Obama with this laptop vinyl sticker. Easy to apply and take off – just note that you won’t be able to reapply once it’s off. From Blackfin Graphics.

If you love the concept of these earrings but are leaning towards a Mitt Romney vote, you won’t find any accessories in this particular shop. Its name? Barack Obama Jewelry.

If you’re hosting an Election Day party but have friends on both sides of the party lines, we want to say two things. One – good luck with that. Two – keep things fair and balanced with these bipartisan drink stirrers. Bonus points if you can figure out what drink the Gnome Sweet Gnome Shop used in this awesome photo!

Nope, your eyes aren’t deceiving you. That’s a Mitt Romney soap head. Better still? It’s vanilla scented. From our super crafty friends at Soap Weapons.

If you’d rather your mutt do the talking, strap on one of these awesome handmade pet bandanas from Carrabelle.

Some of our favorite political handmades are these gorgeous letterpress coasters from Haute Papier. Once again, this is a mixed set that will keep everyone happy.

Adorable vintage Republican cufflinks in teal and gold, circa 1960 and from Buy My Vintage Luv.

Another one for the dogs – chic handmade collars. Pick your political party and size! From Preppy Palooza.

If letting your dog sport a bandana or collar is making you feel all left out, get in on the action with this coordinating T-shirt from Alfie and Rex.

No matter who you voted for, we’ll all probably need a stiff drink on the night of the big reveal. If you’re voting Republican, you might enjoy your drink to coming from this vintage Jim Beam ceramic bottle from The ID Connection.

We’re pretty impressed by these handmade clay fired car ornaments from TLC Ceramics IL.

Say it loud and proud with this huge wooden sign, painted in our nation’s colors. From Growth Ring.

We found several handmade political pillows floating out there on the web, but our favorite is this cotton screen printed 5″ x 5″ pillow from BE Timeless.

These “new and improved” homemade “Obama biscuits” have us giggling… people think of everything, don’t they? From Candy Freak Design.

Adorable rhinestone Republican brooch – perfect for your preppy pastel blazer and pencil skirt. From Aquamarina Antiques.

If adorable is what you’re after, might we suggest these stuffed political figures from the 1960s. In great condition – we couldn’t believe they weren’t recently handmade! From Junkarama.

If you’re going to need some coffee to keep you awake on election night, why not let it hit your mouth through this awesome vintage pottery mug from Pick Posh. Need a donkey instead? Try Google – search “Frankoma Redware pottery political,” or something of the sort.

If you like the idea of plush toys but would rather go the handmade route than vintage, you might like these “party animals” sock toys from Garish Rubbish.

Pair of vintage bobblehead piggy banks. Good news: both believe in peace! From Dan’s Bargain Banks.

We’re always impressed by the art of paper mache, and this styrofoam-based political elephant is no different. Donkey also available. From Lynn Eva Skoog Art.

Wear your political pride right out where your neighbors can see it – with a wreath on your front door! We love these (yes, they have Democratic ones too) handmade yarn hoops from Go Green Treasures.

Super impressed by this hand painted mug from the uber-talented (and cutely named) Dirty Dishes.

This handmade political bracelet features reproductions of vintage buttons, mixing our two favorite things – vintage and handmade. From Mitzi’s Collectables.

While we can’t agree with the idea of a political party in your pants, we also won’t tell you where to wear your presidential pride! From Solo Jones.

Our token Independent item. Sorry about that. But then again, you’re probably used to feeling a little left out by now, eh? From Creative Etching.

Perfect for sorority girls of every age, we’re loving these preppy political Tervis tumblers from Game Day Girls and Gifts.

If you’re needing some election night entertainment, may we suggest a couple rounds of bingo? You can buy these last minute too – upon ordering, the seller send you the file to print yourself. $1.50 for a set of 8 cards… no too shabby! From Cindy Stewart Designs.

“The un-official rally call of the Obama campaign.” Maracas called Baracas. Genius. Enough said.

Last week I bought a patriotic beanie baby! It was a donkey and was red white and blue with stars and stripes.

Might the drinks be made of cranberry juice and blue curacao? Are you going to tell us?

The best way to support your candidates is to vote against their opponents.

By now probably most everybody has heard of the sobbing little girl 'Being tierd of Bronco Bama and Mitt Romney'. I think a pin or a sticker showing a bucking mule, ridden by a smileing, white hat wearing President Obama would be fun.
