3 Lessons I Learned from My Dog

3 Lessons I Learned from My Dog

I’ve had dogs most of my life, and I’ve learned a great deal about life from them. As my dog Sanchez matures, I’m noticing that his lessons are getter simpler and wiser. Sometimes they might even come from his expressions or the adorable way he moves his paws in his sleep.

I live in the Dog world with a capital D! Everything in this world is controversial…. where to get your puppy or dog, what dog training method is best, what treatments are appropriate for their health and healing, who should have a dog, etc. While I am passionate about all of these issues and have very strong opinions on many of them, my dogs, Sanchez and Gina, are teaching me to respect other people’s views, even if they are different from my own. Rather than condemning other opinions, it’s best to not see, hear, or speak any evil about them. His picture really says it all.

A Facebook fan who strongly opposed my position on legalizing medical marijuana for pets, said it best when she respectfully stated her viewpoint and then said “I’m going to agree to disagree.”

What lessons have your pets taught you? Thanks for posting them in a comment below.

Lessons I also learnt from my dogs are forgive & to forget, to bear no grudges and to give our truest and most sincere unconditional love.

Animals can teach us so much, it is a shame that many humans abuse or kill them needlessly.
