The Four Agreements, a New York Times bestseller for over seven years, is based on four pieces of advice for personal freedom. Based on ancient Toltec wisdom, these four agreements will help end needless suffering caused by self-limiting beliefs.
Be impeccable with your word.
Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean. Avoid using the word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others. Use the power of your word in the direction of truth and love.
Don’t take anything personally.
Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won’t be the victim of needless suffering.
Don’t make assumptions.
Find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want. Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings, sadness, and drama. With just this one agreement, you can completely transform your life.
Always do your best.
You best is going to change from moment to moment; it will be different when you are healthy as opposed to sick. Under any circumstance, simply do your best, and you will avoid self-judgment, self-abuse, and regret.

Practical and very well said....thanx
This is based upon ancient wisdom. The 4 precepts or agreements will bring positives and replace what was negatives.
Thanks for the chance to win. I'd love one of these.
I am in total agreement and believe that if we would live for today, speak truth, never speak to hurt or harm, be involved in healing ourselves and our planet, have compassion, know that there is no right or wrong but only lessons for us to evolve, accept responsibility for our actions, and live each day as though it were the last, savoring the sacridness of all that life is and giving back to this wonderful that has been so abused, we would know happiness of heart.
Well said!
Right On
Love these 4 ideas. Thank you.
Those 4 ideas sound like ideal ways of leading a life of happiness and wholeness.
This is the first time I have ever made a comment on Care2 Action. I would benefit greatly from 'The four Agreements' as I am extremely hard on myself. I need these wonderful words of wisdom to work on and carry with me, every day of my life.
