5 Cancer-Fighting Spices

  • 5 of 6

Cayenne Pepper
Arriba! Cayenne pepper contains capsaicin, yet another cancer preventative. When used in mass it can cause heartburn but a little sprinkled onto everyday foods should be enough for you to see the benefits. Cayenne peppers are full of beta carotene, other antioxidants and immune boosters and helps to build healthy mucous membranes tissues – our first level of defense against bacteria and viruses.

Next: Garlic

I'll try to add more tumeric in my food. Not sure which food goes the best with it, though.

Very interesting read! I would have never thought that one of these used topically would help with arthritis! There's only one I don't have, and that's turmeric. Will have to pick that up, and then use these spices more often. I use lots of cinnamon and garlic in different recipes already, but that's it. And thanks for providing recipes. That's a big help! And thanks to those who said you need to have pepper with turmeric for the turmeric to be absorbed in the body, and for pointing out that cooked garlic has lost most of its health benefit. I know I cook it to death. We've bought pickled garlic, and so I'm sure that's excellent for you, since it's raw, and you just pop it in your mouth like you would an olive. That will keep more than the vampires at bay!
