5 Sources for Meat-Free Protein

1. Beans

The musical fruit! The more you eat the more…protein you will have in your diet. A serving of cooked beans has 7-10 grams of protein per half cup, so a bowl of bean soup or chili packs quite the protein punch! If you’re worried about beans’ more…er…“musical” qualities, rinsing the beans before cooking can make a big difference. You might also want to add beans to your diet slowly, if you don’t get a lot of fiber right now.

I have just one source of protein in my diet. It's called simply... FOOD!

If one eats enough of any one food (discounting alcohol and sugars which really are not food) to meet their caloric needs then one will not just meet but exceed their protein needs:

Corporations trying to find a way to rid themselves of waste have sold us on the idea of protein (as in whey which is a by-product of making cheese they would otherwise need to pay to have hauled off) but I bet there is no doctor in the west who has seen a case of protein deficiency that isn't rooted in alcoholism or an eating disorder and that's not a protein problem but other problems. Same with those starving to death. Give them some food and the issues reverse. No need to special protein.

Eat well, lots and lots of plants and let the protein take care of itself. Worry about the other nutrients which few get from these processed foods and supplements. Eat real!

Thanks so much for sharing! I shall pass this one to whoever will benefit from it...having been a vegetarian for nearly 14 years now, I can safely say that I have not once had a health problem from not eating meat!
