5 Summer Drinks to Keep You Cool

honeydew melon

1. Melon Puree

This is a drink I had on a trip to Jamaica. It’s incredibly refreshing and simple to make. Melons are a great source of vitamin C, and when you puree instead of juicing, you retain all of that healthy fiber. Here’s how to make your own melon puree:

  1. Slice up a a honeydew melon or cantaloupe into chunks.
  2. Blend until smooth, adding a bit of water to thin things out if necessary.
  3. Chill your puree before serving for extra cooling benefits.

You could probably make this with watermelon or any other sweet melon, but I’ve only tried honeydew and cantaloupe.

TY, Becky! Literally COOL for sure. I need to know how to pick up the bonus points; bc our family has both the cucumbers & mint due to my resident gardener husband. We also have other herbs too. I just reap the benefits & pull an occasional weed if I feel like it. Blessed, I am!

Deanna - I hear ya! We've been running the fans and drinking cold drinks, but our AC bill is still higher than I'd like. At least you can start now! :)
