6 Strange & Scary Plants (Slideshow)

It’s amazing what strange, scary & weird plants Mother Nature has under her belt. Click through for six of the most interesting examples!

1. Doll’s Eye

This plant, native to Eastern North America, gets its name from its unusual berries; in the summer, the white berries with small black dots in the middle look unnervingly like doll’s eyes. Foragers beware, though, these plants are highly poisonous!

Ooh I love the look of the Doll's eyes, and the corpse flower is so pretty :) Definitely wouldn't want my front yard to smell like rot though lol.

The best is the Pet TickleMe Plant that everyone seems to be growing. If you haven't grown one yet it is a wow experience. The leaves fold up and the branches droop when Tickled.
Just google pet TickleMe Plant

The power of language! That bleeding tooth fungus freaked me out until I heard the other name! Now it looks kind of appetizing.

That bleeding tooth fungus is one of the most repugnant things I've ever seen.

Devil's Claw is a rather attractive plant, and I'd never thought of the pods as weird or unattractive, just watch out not to get hooked on them. Around here we hook the pods together and make long hanging strands of them to hang on porch eaves and in the trees.
