7 Beautiful Water Bottles That Make Hydration Fun

Drinking water is important—we all know that. But chugging bottle after bottle of disposable plastic is harmful to your health, harmful to the environment, expensive and frankly, not very stylish or fun. That’s why everyone should invest in a reusable water bottle.

Not very excited at the prospect of spending real money on a water bottle? I understand. But consider this. A $30-40 water bottle will last you years, if not a lifetime. How much money do you think you could spend on emergency stops for water at the convenience store in that time? It’s definitely way more than $40. And don’t forget to consider the environmental impact. Getting a good, eco-friendly, reusable bottle just makes sense. Plus, if you have a bottle you really like, you are more likely to use it and keep hydrated throughout the day.

Drinking your daily fix of water doesn’t have to be boring. There are plenty of beautiful bottles out there that are eco-friendly, functional and fun. To get you started, here is a list of super fun, sustainable water bottles that will finally get you excited about hydration.

S’well

This is the ‘it’ bottle of the moment. S’well prints really cool designs, like marble, wood grain and other hip patterns, on their 17 ounce stainless steel bottles. If that isn’t enough, they are also the fastest growing female company in the US and have donated $800,000 to clean water efforts since 2015.

Jardiniere Infuser

If you love fruit-infused water, it doesn’t get much prettier than this. These glass bottles are uniquely decorated with floral paintings by artist Lulie Wallace. What’s more, they have an mesh insert which allows you to drink fruit-infused water all day long. And the cap? Sustainable bamboo. These are a beautiful way to become mindfully hydrated while taking good care of yourself and the planet.

Soma

Ah, plastic-free and minimally elegant. Soma makes glass bottles with monotone silicone sleeves and bamboo caps. With shatter-resistant glass, this is the durable yet classy bottle to take to your fitness class and your office. Its design is clean and so very eco-chic. Don’t believe me? Check out Soma’s Instagram. So beautiful.

Lifefactory

These bottles are useful, stylish and functional for everybody. Lifefactory is pretty common around the block, but don’t let that dissuade you. Their popularity is a sign that they are as functional as they are sustainable. Many people get nervous about breaking glass water bottles. Seeing as many of these as I do at yoga studios, I can assure you, they don’t seem to be breaking.

Welly Bottle

Although I haven’t personally tried this bottle, it is very high on my wish list (hint hint). This insulated bottle with a sustainable bamboo shell seems to do everything. It has a mesh filter for infusing your water with citrus, cucumbers, berries or even for brewing coffee and tea. It also comes with a stick of activated bamboo charcoal, which helps to purify unfiltered tap water. And if that’s not enough, for every bottle sold, Welly donates $1 to charity: water. Wow. What more could you ask for?

Hydro Flask

I’ve been a longtime fan of HydroFlask. I’m just gonna say it, their bottles insulate really, really well. Hot drinks stay hot, cold drinks stay super cold, ALL DAY LONG. It is pretty amazing. And unlike other metal bottles, these don’t dent or chip as easily, making them a better choice for those with rugged water bottle needs.

Earth Lust

If you like earthy print designs on your bottles, check out Earth Lust. With stylish prints of squirrels, dandelions, feathers and octopi, their whimsical bottles have a colorfully vintage aesthetic. They are made entirely out of recyclable stainless steel, so many years from now, when your bottle retires, you will still be keeping waste out of the landfill.

Getting a water bottle you love makes drinking water more fun. You’ll probably carry it around more, which means you’ll be better hydrated. It also means you won’t have to run to a convenience store to waste money on some plastic-infused water when you are on the go. It’s a win-win-win for you, the planet and your health. Which bottle is your favorite?
