a lot of those videos were great! although i'd argue the difference between 'clever', 'tricks' and 'determined' in some of those. needless to say, dogs do have a level of intelligence that other animals don't. and so many can be taught these cool tricks and people think they're clever. they're habitual learners so do something enough times with a dog and it'll pick it up. you decide on what level of intelligence that is. it certainly shows the capability of learning at least!

Of course dogs understands us. We need to train them from the time they are puppies to understand our language. My three dogs can answer simple questions by tapping my left palm for YES and right palm for NO with their paws. It's amazing! But you need to spend time training and talking with them everyday. Two of my dogs like me to sing to them and they can indicate to me if they like a particular song esp.if the melody is nice and more so if the song include their names in it. Singing also helps to calm one of the dogs during thunder.
Don't you just love em....the cat videos are better though x
