8 Great New Year’s Eve Cocktails

8. The Classic Champagne Cocktail

You can’t go wrong with this old standby — it’s simple, delicious and easy to make!

Makes 6 glasses.

Ingredients:
6 Sugar Cubes
Angostura Bitters
1 Bottle Champagne or Sparkling Wine
6 ounces brandy
Lemon or orange slices, for garnish
Maraschino Cherries (optional)

Instructions:
1. Place one sugar cube in each of the six champagne glasses. Add 2-3 dashes of bitters in each glass, saturating the sugar cube. Pour one ounce of brandy in each glass. Top with champagne and let sugar cube dissolve. Toss in some maraschino cherries if desired, and garnish with orange or lemon slices.
