A Greenie’s Top 10 Wish List

A Greenie’s Top 10 Wish List

Because of my health problems I have been a non-toxic greenie for 28 years. Since we had so many medical expenses in the early years I used to yearn for the day when I could have an organic bed, or organic soil shipped in for a vegetable garden (which I still dream of, every year).

Interestingly, my wish list hasn’t changed much, and some of my desires have been achieved, such as an organic bed, and I have one hand-dyed, organic wool Tibetan carpet. The designs are of the medicinal plants of Tibet. What perfect imagery/energy to have in my living room. Here are my top 10 wishes for greenness; I am very curious to hear about yours.

1. Organic wool bedding, including mattress, pillow, and comforter. Organic bamboo sheets.
2. Hand-dyed, organic wool Tibetan carpets.
3. Organic fruits, veggies, and dairy delivered every week, 12 months a year.
4. Geothermal heating system.
5. A water filter that alkalinizes the water.
6. Organic wool cushions for all of my couches and stuffed chairs.
7. Zero-VOC paint colored with natural minerals for beautiful, mellow hues.
8. A local manicurist who does 100 percent natural manicures.
9. A vacation in an eco-hut on St. John, in the Caribbean
10. A hip franchise with non-toxic/green cosmetics and hair care products for teenagers.

I didn’t even get to the clothes and shoes. What is on your green wish list?

Sweet article Annie. I for one couldn't live without my organic garden! It is the most HEALING thing in my life, as I have severe medical problems as well! It is of course for my friends, family and neighbors....But EVERY FRUIT,VEGGIE, OR HERB is donated to our Local "Help of Ojai". "Little House" feeds the elderly and supplies our "Meals on Wheels" Program and CAP {Community Assistance Program} feeds our homeless. Come by my house ANYTIME and you'll have all the gardening and ORGANICs you can eat! And my ORGANIC SOIL AND COMPOST was delivered by truck loads. I promise you, one day in my garden will check off half of #3. My friend has chickens that are treated like her grandchildren. The eggs are all donated to her church or for sale {$2} to anyone. They eat organic as well. NADYA, you're invited as well. You can check off part of #7. Would you be able to trade ducks for hundreds of racoons? If so, I can supply that as well. wink!

My biggest wish is that our apartment owners would green our entire apartment complex, consisting of 415 apartmants.

I wish that that all things organic and fairtrade will come down in price. Too many times I have tried to purchase beautiful organic cotton clothes but have not been able to because of budget constraints. Same goes for organic foods. I purchase certain things organic but I would love if I could afford to have a totally organic diet.

Great thread here!

I wish to see the vegan lifestyle to be more accepted and adopted worldwide. It is, in my opinion, the single most effective "green" step one can make.

Thanks for the information.

Good for them!! Their government should support their efforts, but I don't suppose it will.

Thank you.

My dog has food allergies. He gets a piece of cooked potato or a tad bit of white rice for a "treat"…

My favorite combination is spinach, kalamata olives, and goat cheese. A little fresh mozzarella add…
