En efficent modern fossil fueled car today pollutes less than a similar electric car. It just pollutes in a different location.
Why are we waiting, electric cars were invented at the same time as the Ford was. It is time we did the right thing for our planet. Good luck to this endeavour.

This just goes to show that more and more options will open up as we take alternatives seriously. The big issue in the US is we need to control the cartels that are fighting against sustainable transportation.
Batteries are recyclable! They don't have to go into the landfill!
Electric cars have a big draw back and that is those extremely toxic batteries that have to be dumped somewhere to poison the environment and ground water. I like the new compressed air cars being marketed this year made in India by Tata Motors.
