Appreciation Nation

I wanted to dedicate this week’s vlog to heightening your awareness of gratitude and appreciation. Focusing on what you do have creates more of what you want. In this video I share some of what I appreciate most in my life. Then I invite you to do the same. If this vlog inspires you to focus on what you appreciate then share it with me in the comments below.

This one really came in handy today!! I was struggling with a negative energy involving my mother, and I knew there had to be a way to fix it, but somehow couldn't connect with it... then I saw this. It changed something. So thank you! I'm grateful for, and appreciate, YOU!! ^_^

You're grateful for flavored iced coffee and parking spaces? That's deep. I'm all for expressing gratitude and appreciating the little things but this just seems like contrived excuse to "vlog". I'll admit the second half of the video was slightly better.

We should all be thankful for our natural surroundings, and be considerate to others it will go a long way even if we just practice it once a day, showing good examples for our children and taking into consideration for others as we help each other along.

This is a good reminder. Lately I find myself remembering to appreciate what I have in my life (and I have a lot to appreciate), so it's good to have the reminder.

The challenge is to show your "thank you" through daily actions. But it helps by thinking and saying "thank you" to start with.
Walk with gentle footsteps. Thank you!

Honestly, I couldn't even finish watching this. From the first scene where she's sitting on what looks like some kind of fur or skin rug, to the closeup of her face, to the way she can't remove her sunglasses outside on a cloudy day to give us eye contact, this strikes me as nothing so much as E! Entertainment's version of what to be grateful for. I can't deny that there's much to be said for being grateful for what you have, but the concept that you should be grateful in order to attract more of like (things) seems counter to the point to me. You can be grateful for your trampoline, but maybe you should be grateful for the wage slaves who made the thing? It's just -- so typically American media-hungry version of grateful. Personally, I like the sign that says Thank You. I am grateful for what I have, I am grateful for the people Occupying all over the world, I am grateful for food and clean water, I am grateful that I'm vegan and lesbian, I'm grateful to have decent health, working limbs and organs, I'm grateful that I can read, I am grateful for the world who is still working, despite our best intents. It seems really kind of nonsensical to be grateful for parking spaces in a city where it's dumb to drive and for coffee drinks in plastic cups. :/
