April’s Fruits & Veggies Inspire Dining Al Fresco

April’s Fruits & Veggies Inspire Dining Al Fresco

With the sun finally shining and a light breeze blowing, wouldn’t you agree that food tastes better? The spring weather just invites you outside and you’re no longer limited to dining at your table, but you can head to the park for a picnic, grill on the patio, or even dine al fresco at your favorite restaurant. Flavors pop, conversations seems better, and you’re even inspired to eat healthier.

When the weather inspires your meals, it’s hard to go wrong this time of year!

The early spring produce will mostly include vegetables, as fruit tends to thrive in the warmer months of summer. In season for April you’ll find these fruits and vegetables.

Vegetables: spring cabbages, carrots, potatoes, morel mushrooms

Fruit: Limes, lychee, papayas, strawberries

Who wouldn’t be inspired to eat something healthy with that list? With the cabbage, carrots, and potatoes, you could make a simple vegetable soup or stew. If you’re ready to shake loose your winter recipes, try some of these inspired ideas that are ideal for taking your plate from the dining room to the patio:

Papaya Mint Popsicles

Fresh Lime Salsa Picante

Asian Napa Cabbage Carrot Slaw with Snow Peas

Momofuku Lychee Lime Mint Sorbet

Strawberry Shortcake
