Flattering someone in order to get what you want is a completely legitimate tactic -- but if you rely on it too often with the same people, it's going to start backfiring. If you need to ask someone a big favor or enter into a sensitive conversation topic today, don't be overly obvious about just how smart, attractive, clever, witty or whatever else you think they are. Just be blunt and up front. It's an unusual approach, for you, but it is one that they will be very happy to see.
