Today's 'National Raspberry Cake Day' is a sweet sort of day. Both Europe and deep middle America have cultural traditions that say that hanging raspberry branches around a home's doors and windows will bring mystical protection to all its occupants. Raspberry is also routinely served as a love-inducing food since the color and combo of sweet and sour lends itself to delicious amour. It's also said that pregnant women who carry raspberry leaves during their last trimester will have an easy labor and a comfortable delivery. Right now, though, I might just stick to hanging the brambles and eating the cake.
