'National Pharmacist Day' recognizes the integral role pharmacists play in our healthcare. After all, a pharmacist must be knowledgeable of the chemical composition of every medicine they handle and dispense. I, however, am more an advocate of Mother Nature's apothecary. I'm an especially big fan of the gold standard of anti-virals, antibiotics and anti-fungals -- lavender essential oil. Diffusing this oil into the atmosphere can keep colds and flu at bay while also helping to build a hearty immune system. Every household should have a bit of lavender on hand to treat small cuts or wounds. The scent of this essential oil can also calm and soothe the spirit while also making falling to sleep easier. I love lavender, and so will you.
