Summer heat and humidity can add up to a nasty home mold problem that's just plain unhealthy. Buying a humidifier can help, as can checking your roof for leaks and increasing natural ventilation. Should some mold get through, spray it down with tea tree oil. There may be a fungus amongst us, but it's not something that can't be easily solved.
