Science should not be partisan any more than math is. And it wasn't until around 2008. Until then republicans and democrats agreed that we have a global problem to address. Newt Gingrich even made a commercial with Nancy Pelosi about the importance of the issue.

Now, they didn't always agree on how to address the problem. But there was no denial of the problem. Republicans thought a marketplace based solution best. Trading carbon credits was their idea. We Democrats generally advocate faster deployment of green technology using subsidies if necessary.

But now they pretend they didn't have these positions, the same as they pretend that "Obamacare" isn't essentially their marketplace-based idea(using the exchanges).

Let's support the current efforts to educate the public on this important topic. We would not be the great country that we are without embracing science and industry.

He was always one of my favorite people! Were it not for all the awesome PBS programming I watched as a kid, I think I would have killed myself as a youth! I remember wondering how kids (at this time I was barely in 4th grade) were okay not understanding a class subject or wanting to learn more? They were content being kids & that was fun but I remember being scared for the world's pollution problems & expressing concern about the serial killer topic; given that they were not able to be "fixed". Through those types of programs, I learned that I wasn't alone in my concerns. It was refreshing
