Brighten a Room with Gold or Bronze

Brighten a Room with Gold or Bronze

Incorporate a note of unexpected glamor to a space with a gold or brass accessory or accent piece. From the Remodelista Room Gallery, here are four ideas to consider.

Above: In this New York bedroom, a minimal palette is punctuated with a spiral brass pendant. See more of this Greenwich Village home in Designer Visit: Magdalena Keck Interior Design.

Above: The Los Angeles bedroom of blogger Lizzie Garrett features two brass sconces that add a bit of gold to the otherwise white, black and gray room. Go to Design Sleuth, Noirish LA Bedroom for guidance on how to recreate the look.

Above: In designer Erica Tanov‘s Marin, California store, a glimmering “sequined wall” adds an unexpected note of glamor. The wall was inspired by brass sequins Tanov found at the Alameda Flea Market. To see more of the space, visit Bohemian Luxury in Marin.

Located on Florida’s Gulf Coast, the Postcard Inn boasts a laid-back surfer vibe mixed with vibrant colors and vintage furnishings. Here, brass pendant lamps hang close to a chalkboard wall. To see more of the hotel’s interiors, go to Postcard Inn St. Pete Beach.

For white rooms, the gold doesn't seem to brighten the room that much more but rather adds a little more dimension.

I really dig it in the second picture but not so much the other two... Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the article and the pictures. I've used brassware in one room, which blended in well with dark wood and (beige) natural stone. Our other reception room was to be black/white/grey with touches of red (for warmth) ..... now I've SEEN the "glam" touch which can be added so simply, a little addition is in order !
