How to Leave Behind Emotional Vampires

Have an emotional vampire in your life? One effective tool to leave behind emotional vampires is “cord cutting.”

“Cord Cutting” is a ceremonial ritual based on the premise that when we enter into relationships an energetic cord is activated. These cords can weaken our energy and negatively affect us. Follow my three step process and proactively cut the energetic cord.

Gabby,
Thank you so much for this vlog. I've just recently discovered the awesomeness that is the list of Care2 stories by you, and I'm starting at the beginning. You weren't kidding, this cord-cutting thing is pretty dang amazing!!
Unfortunately, for all it's awesome, it is also a place I feel I am getting "stuck." There is one particular energy vampire that has such a strong and frequent effect on me - my mother - and I guess I would like to know if there is anything else I can be doing to not let her negativity and controlling/condescending nature effect me as much. I have done the cord-cutting meditation focused on her more than once, (and I do tend to feel a jolt of immediate relief,) but because I live with her and still controls a large portion of my life (I'm thinking of a quote from the new Disney-Pixar movie Brave... "she's in charge of every single day of my life!")... I'm finding it difficult to maintain the effect for very long. I have no problem doing the meditation every night (that's the time I've set aside for meditation) if necessary, but it is quite frustrating when she is capable of sucking me dry again by noon the next day. She is the kind of energy vampire that just doesn't quit... except when it's to make me think she's changed, so (being the family-oriented daughter that I am) I'll come back and start to trust her again, only to get cut down once more. It never fails.
If you happen to have any advise for me, I would be eternally grateful... scrat
