One of the very nicest things about life is the way we must regularly stop whatever it is we are doing and devote our attention to eating.

Just as treasures are uncovered from the earth, so virtue appears from good deeds, and wisdom appears from a pure and peaceful mind. To walk safely through the maze of human life, one needs the light of wisdom and the guidance of virtue.

Hold on to what is good even if it is a handful of earth.
Hold on to what you believe even if it is a tree which stands by itself.

Hold on to life even when it is easier letting go.
Hold on to my hand even when I have gone away from you.

I loved the quote by Peace Pilgrim :
World peace will never be stable until enough of us find inner peace to stabilize it.

Maitreya, of the Mission of Maitreya indeed teaches that there are three Kingdoms of Heaven; the one in Heaven which is already established, the Kingdom of Heaven on Earth ..yet to be established and very much influenced by the number of those who have reached the Kingdom of Heaven Within (as Rumi called them those who find inner peace) and are working together to establish it on the earth.

great quotes... but my absolute favorite ones are these 2 from Franklin D. Roosevelt:

To reach a port, we must sail - sail, not tie at anchor - sail, not drift.

When you get to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on.

Reminds me of a quote I have on my Care2 page by E.F. Ufford that says "Throw out the lifeline, throw out the lifeline - someone is sinking today."

Very powerful quote in my opinion...and very true!

I don't know if anyone else will consider this an inspirational quote or not but it certainly has caused my family to pause and think about how we treat the environment and especially our water resources -

"We ALL live downstream" David Suzuki
