Researchers say that this Egyptian herbal blend helps treat dandruff, seborrhea, and maybe even balding. The primary ingredient is ginger, a powerful anti-inflammatory agent.
Learn the secret Egyptian anti-dandruff, anti-hair-loss formula from master herbalist James A. Duke, PhD.
INGREDIENTS
2 gingeroots, grated
3 tablespoons sesame oil
Dash of lemon juice
1. Juice the grated ginger and mix 1 to 2 tablespoons of the ginger juice with the sesame oil and lemon juice.
2. Massage the blend into your scalp, leaving it on for 15 to 30 minutes before rinsing. Repeat three times a week. Refrigerate leftover formula between uses.
Hint: A nightly scalp massage is a key to effective treatment, since this will improve the circulation through your scalp.

when it says "rinse", do you just rinse it out with water, or wash the residue out with shampoo? I have issues with leaving oil in my hair :-(
Here are some others directly from the Ebers Medical Papyrus that some will find interesting:
For Preventing hair from falling out: 1.Mix together ochre, collyrium, ht-plant, oil, gazelle dung and hippopotamus fat, and rub the mixture on the head. 2.Mix crushed flax seed with an equal quantity of oil, add water from a well, and rub the mixture on the head. 3.Boil a lizard in oil and rub the oil on the head.
(Safe to say , I would stick with #2)
Prevention of baldness:Rub the head with castor-oil and fat from a hippopotamus, a crocodile, a cat, a snake and an ibex.
Making the hair grow:A leg of a female greyhound, one date-stone, the hoof of a donkey.Cook in oil, then annoint (This was the favorite recipe of Queen Shesh, mother of VI Dynasty Pharaoh Teti).
I should try this recipe since I have falling hair and dandruff.
