Do We Eat Too Much Easter Candy? (Infographic)

Do We Eat Too Much Easter Candy? (Infographic)

If you participated in the Easter holiday, it’s likely that chocolate, jelly beans and other pastel-colored candies have found their way into your cupboards and easter baskets.

To a child, there are few things as exciting as a holiday that promises baskets of candy, but it’s important for adults to remember that moderation is a virtue.

If you’ve ever wondered just how much candy Americans consume over the Easter holiday, this infographic has all the sinfully-delicious details.

Eating junk food now and then isn't really much of an issue, as long as it is a special treat for special occasions. What bothers me more is that so much of the chocolate we buy is produced in part through slave labor, and often child slaves. (It's not really okay if the slaves are adults, but enslaving children and forcing them to work is really nasty, and that's where a good chunk of our non-fair-trade cocoa comes from.)

Those 4% who said you should eat the bunnies' butts first must be perverted or something xD
Sorry I'm not being serious about the nastyness of junk food; I love it and think its your responsibility to be wise about it and have it in moderation instead of blaming mega corporations or holidays or whatever.

I ate black jelly beans , chocolate eggs and , of course. marshmallow peeps....and promptly had a stomach ache the next day . probably because I do not eat that crap .Unfortunately , I will probably repeat this scenario next year....

My granddaughter has more candy and chocolate than she should eat in a year and most it is now nicely hidden out of sight. No candy from us though - we bought her a kite and summer PJ's. As children, we never got a lot at Easter - usually just a solid chocolate bunny, some bubbles, a skipping rope or some spring toy and usually a new dress to wear to church on Easter Sunday.
