At the Elephant Sanctuary outside Nashville, elephants arrive one by one but soon seek out a partner, usually another elephant. Tarra had her own ideas, and she bonded with a stray dog named Bella. They became inseparable. They sleep together, drink together, play together. When Bella was sick for three weeks, Tarra stood by. It seems almost like a Disney story. When Disney actually came knocking to make a movie about this odd couple, the Sanctuary keepers said no. They are there to serve the animals; not vice versa.
