Eco Reads: Great Books for Sustainable, Natural and Healthy Living

For tips, inspiration and advice on how to incorporate more healthy practices into your home, here are some books we recommend.

Above: Cookbook author, designer, photographer and creator of the much-loved blog 101 Cookbooks, Heidi Swanson does it all exceptionally well. In her most recent book, Super Natural Every Day, she brings simple recipes to the table, all packed with nutrient-dense foods that are full of flavor.

Above: The sustainably-minded archictect, Alex Scott Porter, recommended these two books to us: Sustainable Living: 25 International Examples by Dominique Gauzin-Mullre (left) shows a variety of homes in 18 countries that boast an environmental approach to energy, materials and construction, while Ari Meisel’s LEED Materials: A Resource Guide to Green Building is a visual guide to products, services and materials in reference to earning a LEED certification.

Above: In My Father’s Daughter, Gwyneth Paltrow divulges over 20 years worth of kitchen wisdom that she mostly gained while cooking with her father, the late Bruce Paltrow. The book is a beautiful arsenal of stories, recipes and healthy cooking alternatives.

Great recommendations! I have the LEED Materials book in my office as I work in a Leed certified Silver buildling and we are trying to take it to the next level, and there are some great ideas in here for anyone thinking to make changes to their own homes!
