Face-Saving Foods

Adapted from The Wrinkle Cure, by Nicholas Perricone, M.D. (Rodale, 2000).
Putting your best face forward may be as easy as choosing to include certain foods in your diet that have powerful anti-aging, anti-inflammatory, and healing properties.
Whether you have aging skin, dry skin, rosacea, or acne, there are delicious foods that you can eat to help your skin look its very best. Find out what they are, here:
Dry or Aging Skin
Eat foods rich in Essential Fatty Acids (EFAs), such as salmon, flaxseed oil, and walnuts.
Rosacea
Eat lots of anti-oxidant-rich fruits and vegetables such as broccoli, Brussels sprouts, and cantaloupe.
Acne
Eat foods rich in vitamin A and beta-carotene, such as melons, spinach, and broccoli. Avoid processed foods.

add your comment »My diet includes organic eggs, fruit, veggies, just a few nuts, fish, wild salmon, probiotic wraps and yogurt, tofu, along with occasional portions of meats like organic chicken and steak. Lots of water. Organic bananas and berries, especially blueberries. ( correction on previous post it's 1000 pushups, broken up with other exercises, It took me a year to get there. No rush on exercising, pacing, resting, variety and stretching is important!

I began following the Perricone Prescription carefully 3 years ago when I started turning gray chubby, stressed, with sore joints and feet and a tired look despite playing seasonal sports. I have formed a habit of eating foods and progressively eliminated all processed foods and alcohol. I actually find unhealthy foods so distasteful I can't eat them. I now study TaeKwonDo 3 times a week. In addition on Sunday mornings I run 2000 stairs and perform 2000 pushups among other exercises under 1hr 40 min. I am turning 52, I look 40 and feel 25!
